The El Dorado County "Foster Kinship Care Education Program" provides training, support, resources and referrals for foster, relative caregivers and others caring for children in out-of-home placements.
Our classes cover the mandated topics required by the "State of California Community Care Licensing".
We offer approximately two classes a month. Upon completion of the class each participant receives a certificate.
We offer health classes covering many issues related to foster care.
We offer certification in CPR & First Aid. Our CPR & First Aid classes are geared for foster /kinship care, therefore our classes include information related to licensing requirements, forms and health issues related to caring for foster children.
We have a foster parent resources lending library with many books, videos, magazines and forms related to foster / kinship care and child development in general.
We offer an Independent Living Skills Program for foster youth.
